Meet Jesse & Judi Travis

We’re Jesse and Judi Travis—the people behind The Fletching Ministries.

We’re a husband-and-wife team, parents, and two people who believe deeply that raising children is about so much more than getting them successfully through childhood. It’s about preparing them for the life God created them to live.

The Fletching Ministries grew out of our own journey of marriage, parenting, mistakes, growth, prayer, and the realization that one of the greatest responsibilities God gives us is the opportunity to shape the next generation.

The word fletching refers to the feathers placed on an arrow that help guide and stabilize it toward its target. We love that picture of parenting.

Our children were never meant to stay in our hands forever.

We have a season to love them, disciple them, teach them truth, help them understand who they are in Christ, and prepare them to recognize God’s voice and follow His direction. And then, eventually, we have to release them.

Raise them with purpose. Release them with peace.

Why We Created The Fletching

Parenting today can feel overwhelming.

There are more voices competing for our children’s attention, identity, beliefs, and future than ever before. Parents are navigating technology, culture, relationships, sexuality, anxiety, independence, faith, and a world that often communicates values very different from the ones we want to build into our homes.

But we believe parents do not have to parent from fear.

God has given us a blueprint.

Scripture gives us timeless truth for building strong families, developing deep relationships with our children, creating homes centered on Christ, and preparing our kids to eventually step into the world with strong roots and strong wings.

The Fletching exists to help families do exactly that.

Through books, biblical parenting resources, curriculum, practical tools, encouragement, and honest conversations, we want to help parents become increasingly intentional about the years they have with their children, and increasingly confident about the day they have to let them go.

Our Family

We’ve been married for 19 years, and are raising two daughters, Ainsley and Tenley, in San Antonio, Texas. 

Our family is far from perfect, and we have never pretended to have parenting completely figured out. Much of what we share has been learned in real life, through conversations around our own dinner table, seasons that stretched us, prayers prayed over our children, lessons learned too late, things we would absolutely do again, and things we would do differently.

We also have the privilege of serving through our local church, where missions, discipleship, community, and helping people discover their God-given purpose have become an important part of our family's story.

The Fletching is an extension of that calling.

And pointing your children toward Jesus matters more than anything else.

You don’t have to parent perfectly.

But you can parent purposefully.

Our prayer is that when the time eventually comes to loosen your grip and watch your children step into the life God has for them, you’ll be able to look back knowing you used the years you were given well.
